Dr. Loren Hill, former director of the Zoology Department and Biological Research Center at the University of Oklahoma, spent nine years establishing a range of 26 colors that fish could distinguish best. He then trained fish to go to the 26 different color positions by rewarding correct responses with food. Next, the conditions were altered to simulate different fishing conditions at carious times of the day and with different degrees of water clarity.
